I do agree with you, Mark, but as you will have seen by the latest mag, if members don't send articles to Stuart then he has nothing to work on, consequently, no mag!
Surely, an article about a show, work done over the winter, a new aquisition or a new member telling us about his conversion to Escorts is not too hard. I'd never written an article until I joined this club, now I seem to be constantly in it. From my point of view it would be good to hear about other members and what they get up to with their cars. The mag is always proofed so members don't need to worry if they've never written before.
I've already written an article about my first show of the year! Of course, the other point is if neither Geoff nor Stuart are told about new shows how can we expect members to attend, as a club. It would be nice to visit other shows further afield.

With the club scene changing over the years and with internet clubs popping up for free at a fast rate we need to keep us members in the loop of whats going on in the club. Two things that Peter and Geradine championed was our National Day at Stanford Hall and the club magazine. The magazine was the life blood of the club keeping us all together.

After 25 years as a member of the SEOC I am starting to ask myself what value I am getting for my membership fee. I know producing the magazine is hard work and is tough going. Both myself and Peter had a go at keeping it ticking along. I will renew my membership purely for the love of this club, but £20 for a membership card and not a lot else is going to start putting people off joining or renewing at some stage.

I used to own a mk1 RS2000 Sebring Red ref-AAB 666M. I bought it off a local Rally Driver Ian Harrison. I loved it and used it on marshalling duties on the likes of the RAC, British Rally Championships etc. Sold it in 1984 and the Muppet I sold her to wrote her off after two days. Never to be replaced and lost forever !!!'

I’m in the market for a Mk 1 1300 Sport. Not too worried about condition as I have facilities / capability / enthusiasm to rebuild / restore. Current project near to completion and I’m looking for something else to keep me busy. Usual story, I had one when I was young (sold in 1980), and looking to recapture that period. Would join a small fleet of classics or soon-to-become classics so a good home assured. I appreciate quite rare now but prepared to wait……

If anyone has one for sale or knows of one for sale or even that might be for sale in the future please e-mail david@lanceley.com

Hi, many years ago in the early/mid eighties I owned two MK1 Mexicos, MMU 34K and TSB 85L. Would like to know if they're still around and looking good, thanks all.

The last issue was indeed the summer (159). Sadly we haven't been getting enough show reports, news, members cars, questions etc to produce the magazine as regularly as it once was. I'm putting the next issue together now actually and it has details of all the upcoming shows so hopefully there will be loads of reports flooding in as the show season slowly starts again (I'm off to my first show of the year in a couple of weeks myself)

Hi all,

Has there been a club mag since the summer one? I don't remember any Autumn or winter edition, and I'm sure I renewed my membership October as the cheque was cashed. Also would be interested in a place on the Santa Pod Classic Ford Show, Geoff have you had my emails? Cheers

Nice site and some useful info on Tech page. I'm Originally from the UK but now living in NZ and have always been a Ford fan. My sons now 18 & 17 have both got the Ford bug and drive Mk1 & 2 Escorts which are getting very hard to find over here :-(

I am organising Classic Ford for the club on 5th June 2016. The tickets are £18 in advance. I am trying to drum up as many members to attend the show so we can tell everyone that we are still out there. I would appreciate it if you could attend this show to support the club. If you are interested let me know ASAP and send me a self addressed envelope and a cheque payable to Geoff Lane and I will organise the tickets.
If you have any shows that you would like to attend in you area let me know via email so I can put them on the web site. Also visit the web site to see what shows are available in your area.
